My initial intentions with this piece were just to do a practice sketch and to work on drawing facial expressions. I wanted to work mainly on happy/contented facial expressions as I find them the most difficult. After the initial sketch, I thought to myself “oh let’s experiment with some different colours, ” and this was the result many hours later.
